Barlow Trout Fishery, North Derbyshire

After being an instructor in the RAF servicing Radar I trained at the Government Instructor Training Centre at Letchworth in the 1970's where later I was a tutor training prospective instructors how to teach.  Eventually realising that I could become a qualified instructor working in my lifetime sport of flyfishing,  with over 50 years in the sport I now coach people of all ages.

I am a member of the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA), recognised as a Sport England coach and STANIC qualified in Trout and Fly Dressing by the Salmon & Trout Association. I am also a member of The Fly Dressers Guild.

As the only active instructor in South Yorkshire who is STANIC qualified in both Trout Fishing and Fly Dressing I regularly coach young persons on Salmon & Trout Association junior day courses.

Regular coaching of adults also adds to my varied and active way of life.

As required by GAIA, I am both qualified in First Aid and vetted for Child Protection .

I have had many happy encounters with trout, seatrout, salmon, grayling and other species throughout the UK, France and Switzerland and have fished for bonefish and other predators on fly tackle in the Caribbean.
